More cracks into the archive and more about US-releases

The summer is almost over and not much action has been going on lately, but still some activity. Some nice packs with disks have been released and I have found some more cracks to add to the archive. The total numbers of releases are getting close to 40000 cracks. Besides that a few friends of me and myself has been rechecking existing cracks in the archive and tried to find extra files to the releases like picture files, doc files etc. Thanks for the big help and it’s great that we found so many extra files to make the releases more accurate.

If you have been reading the blog here through the last months then you also read about the US releases and especially about Classic Concentration. The mystery about this game has been solved and so has the mystery about Wheel of Fortune New Second Edition. Both games were cracked by Eagle Soft Inc. and it was found out after checking the Orion imports as Orion mentioned who cracked the games. Also some investigations by Ian Coog lead to solving one of the mysteries.

The Wheel of Fortune New Second Edition had some text about Pira-Ted and there were good chances that Eagle Soft Inc. did write the text. Then I found the Orion import which has the same text and the Orion import mentioned it was cracked by Eagle Soft Inc.

The other game was a lot harder to find out. We checked if there was any special text in the game files, but nothing there. Then I checked the archive and wondered about 2 different cracking groups of Classic Concentration Second Edition. Most imports imported the NEC crack, but the Orion import mentioned it was cracked by Eagle Soft Inc. I decided to look closer at the Orion import and found the out that the game was imported by 1988 and Classic Concentration 2 was from 1989. After that Ian Coog checked if it was the same game as Classic Concentration imports from Ikari and Triad (both imports were imported in the same period as the Orion import). Mystery was almost solved, but still no reason for naming it Concentration 2. Then I checked Gamebase 64 and found a game from 1987 named “Concentration” which was released by Share-Data (the same company who released Classic Concentration). We didn’t see the Eagle Soft Inc. crack without any import intro, but our guess is Eagle Soft Inc. knew about the 1987 game and therefore named Classic Concentration as “Concentration 2”. Mystery solved.
